Training

We have a staff development programme that is linked to our aims, objectives and needs of the service users.

The programme meets the training sector skills council workforce target which is based on the home having annual training and a dedicated budget. A key requirement of the home is for all its’ care staff to have the knowledge and skills to meet its stated purpose and the service users needs.  Moreover, it is recommended by our service that staff have an NVQ 2/3 in Care or be working towards achieving such.

The home welcomes the input of its service users in the development and assessment of training programmes.      

Staffing levels

The ratio of care staff to service users is determined by the assessed needs per service user.  The composition of the staff team also reflects the cultural and gender composition of the service users.

The Home Manager

Green Tiles home has a Registered Home Manager with experience and qualifications in management and nursing.   It is a requirement of the service that its managers produce evidence of continuing professional development and effective management of the home.

Recruitment

The home has a robust recruitment procedure based on equal opportunity and on the protection of vulnerable adults. All new staff positions are confirmed following satisfactory CRB checks and references. 

The Staff are employed in accordance with the General Social Care Council code of conduct and practice and copies of this code of practice is given to them at commencement of employment.
